Jericho Mountain State Park

State Park On The Edge Of Berlin Built Around Off Highway Recreational Vehicle Riding, With A Large Trail Network Connecting To The Coos County ATV Trail System Known As Ride The Wilds, A Small Lake With A Beach And A Campground, And Host Of An Annual ATV Festival. · Berlin, New Hampshire

A large state park on the western edge of Berlin, the old paper-mill city of the northern White Mountains, built mainly for off-highway recreational vehicle riding. Many miles of wide, rough trails climb through the forest over Jericho Mountain and nearby hills, open to ATVs, side-by-side UTVs and trail motorcycles, and they connect to a much larger regional trail system across Coos County marketed as Ride the Wilds, linking Berlin with Gorham, Milan, Errol and towns farther north. On busy summer weekends the parking lots fill with trailers, and riders come from across New England and Quebec. The park also has a quieter side: Jericho Lake, a small lake near the entrance, has a sandy swimming beach, picnic tables and a small campground, and paddlers and anglers use the water. The park has hosted an annual ATV festival in summer. Berlin's riverside logging museum, rental shops and guided tour outfits are close by, and moose are common on the trails and roads. Expect dust in dry weeks, mud after rain and plenty of engine noise.
