John Glenn Astronomy Park
Observatory · Logan, Ohio
A purpose-built public astronomy site opened in 2018 in the Hocking Hills, in one of the darker corners of Ohio, named for the state's own astronaut and senator. Its entrance plaza is a working solar calendar — the gateway frames the sunrise at the solstices and equinoxes — and its programmes, like the sky, are free.
20531 State Route 664 South, Logan, Ohio, 43138, United States
Free. Public programmes run on a published schedule, mainly at weekends, and are WEATHER-DEPENDENT, cancelling for cloud. The grounds and plaza are open outside programme times.
