John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
Florida State Park · Key Largo, Florida
The first undersea park in the United States, established in 1963 to stop the wholesale removal of coral from the Florida reef tract. It reaches about three nautical miles out from Key Largo over the only living barrier coral reef in the continental United States, and the bronze Christ of the Abyss standing in twenty-five feet of water is one of the most recognisable underwater sights anywhere.

Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Boat trips run on set daily schedules and are weather-dependent. THE PARK CLOSES WHEN IT REACHES CAPACITY.
