Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium
Zoo · Kansas City, Missouri
Two hundred and two acres in Swope Park, founded in 1909 and now among the larger zoos in the country by area, with over a million visitors a year. Its strength is space: the Africa section runs to nearly a hundred acres and the animals are at genuine distance rather than in enclosures you look down into. An aquarium opened in recent years and the zoo renamed itself for it. The size is also the catch - this is a lot of walking and the tram is not optional for most families.
6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, Missouri, 64132, United States
