Kelleys Island
Island · Kelleys Island, Ohio
The largest American island in Lake Erie, four miles off Marblehead, and the quiet alternative to Put-in-Bay four miles further west. Its two remarkable things are geological and archaeological: the largest easily accessible glacial grooves in the world, gouged into limestone by the ice sheet, and a shoreline slab carved with prehistoric petroglyphs.
