Killarney Provincial Park
Killarney Provincial Park (Ontario Parks, Wilderness Class) · Killarney, Ontario
A wilderness park on the north shore of Georgian Bay, about an hour southwest of Sudbury, ⚠ FAMOUS FOR THE WHITE QUARTZITE RIDGES OF THE LA CLOCHE MOUNTAINS RISING ABOVE CLEAR BLUE LAKES AND PINK GRANITE SHORES. Group of Seven painters, especially A. Y. Jackson and Franklin Carmichael, painted here and campaigned for its protection; it became a park in 1964.
