Fifty miles of Highway 180 dropping from the giant sequoias at Grant Grove down into Kings Canyon — a gorge that is, by some measures, the deepest in North America, cut more than eight thousand feet below the peaks on either side. The road ends at Roads End, which is exactly what it says, and the wilderness begins there.
