Kingsley Plantation

Historic House · Jacksonville, Florida

The oldest surviving plantation house in Florida, built in 1798 on Fort George Island, and — far more importantly — the site of twenty-five tabby slave cabins standing in an arc, the most complete surviving row of its kind in the United States. Zephaniah Kingsley enslaved people here; so did Anna Madgigine Jai Kingsley, a woman from Senegal whom he had bought, freed and married, and who ran the plantation after his death.

11676 Palmetto Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida, 32226, United States

Grounds open daily during daylight, free of charge. The house interior and ranger programmes run on a limited schedule.
