Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park

Historic Site · Seattle, Washington

A free museum in a restored 1889 Pioneer Square warehouse telling the story of the 1897 Klondike stampede from the Seattle end - not the goldfields, but the city that outfitted them and got rich doing it. Seattle marketed itself relentlessly as the gateway to the Yukon, and the ton of supplies each prospector was required to carry across the Canadian border was largely bought here. It is one of four units of a park whose other three are in Alaska.

319 Second Avenue South, Seattle, Washington, 98104, United States

Open most days, generally 10 AM - 5 PM, with reduced days in winter - it has closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in some periods, so check before making a trip specifically for it. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year Day. Admission is free.
