Kursunlu Waterfall

A Cascading Waterfall And A Series Of Travertine Terraces In A Forested Nature Park, With A Short Walk, A Viewing Platform And Pools In A Cool Setting. A Short And Shady Escape From Antalya, With A Small Entrance Fee · Aksu, Antalya

Kursunlu Waterfall lies in a nature park on the Aksu stream, on the northern edge of the Antalya plain, roughly 10-15 km from the city centre (confirm). The stream drops over a lip of travertine in a broad, curtain-like fall, then spills over a staircase of mossy terraces into green pools, all inside a shady grove of plane, pine and oak. A path leads from the entrance through the trees to a viewing platform close to the main fall, which drops roughly 18-20 m (confirm), and other short paths run along the pools. Picnic tables stand under the trees, and kiosks sell tea, corn and ice cream. Families from Antalya fill the park at weekends, so mid-week is much quieter. The rock is wet and slick around the water. Spring brings the strongest flow, summer the deepest shade, and winter a cool, damp walk with few people. An entrance fee is charged (confirm), and a visit takes one to three hours with a picnic.

The nature park is normally open daily from morning until early evening, with longer hours in summer and an earlier close in winter, roughly 08:00 to 19:00 (confirm). The kiosks and the restroom block keep their own hours and may close in the quiet months. The paths are not lit, so leave before dusk. After heavy rain the lower paths and platforms can be closed for safety. Confirm opening hours, the entrance fee and the state of the paths before you set out, especially in winter.
