La Jolla Sea Caves

Seven sea caves cut into the sandstone cliffs at La Jolla Cove, of which one — Sunny Jim's Cave — can be entered on foot through a tunnel hand-dug by a German engineer between 1902 and 1903. The other six are reachable only from the water, and the kayak trip out to them past the sea lions is one of the best half-days in San Diego.
