Lake Berryessa
Lake · Napa, California
Napa County's reservoir, and the site of one of the strangest sights in California — the Glory Hole, a seventy-two-foot concrete funnel in the middle of the water that swallows the overflow when the lake fills. It only runs in genuinely wet years, and when it does, people drive from across the state to stand on the dam and watch a lake pour into a hole.
