Lake Dardanelle State Park

Arkansas State Park On Lake Dardanelle, A 34,000 Acre Arkansas River Reservoir, And One Of The Premier Competitive Bass Fishing Venues In The United States, Used For National Tournaments. · Russellville, Arkansas

Lake Dardanelle is thirty-four thousand acres of the Arkansas River held back by a lock and dam at Russellville, and it is one of the serious competitive bass fishing venues in the country - national tournaments are run out of these ramps and the weigh-ins happen at the park. For everyone else the draw is the setting: Mount Nebo stands on one side and Mount Magazine is visible on a clear day, so the water sits in a bowl of flat- topped mountains. The visitor centre has aquariums of the lake's own fish, which is a neat idea, and it is the one place in Arkansas where a nuclear power station forms part of the view across the water.
