Lake Guntersville State Park

Alabama State Park · Guntersville, Alabama

Six thousand acres on a bluff above Lake Guntersville, the largest lake in Alabama, with a lodge on the clifftop looking down the length of it. The fishing is the park's national claim — this stretch of the Tennessee River is repeatedly ranked among the best bass water in the United States and has hosted the sport's largest tournaments. In January and February the park runs Eagle Awareness weekends, which have been going for decades and are the reason a good many people first come.

1155 Lodge Drive, Guntersville, Alabama, 35976, United States

Open daily year round for a small day-use fee, with the lodge, cabins and campground open to registered guests around the clock. Eagle Awareness weekends run in January and February, are ticketed separately and book out early.
