Lake of the Ozarks State Park
Subnational Park · Kaiser, Missouri
The largest state park in Missouri, on the Grand Glaize arm of the Lake of the Ozarks, with eighty-five miles of shoreline inside its boundary - out of the lake's eleven hundred and fifty miles, almost all of which is privately owned. That is the point of it: on a lake defined by private docks and resort development, this is the piece anybody can use. There are two swimming beaches with imported sand, twelve trails, a marina, cabins, and Ozark Caverns, which is shown by hand-held lantern.
403 State Highway 134, Kaiser, Missouri, 65047, United States
FREE and open daily year round. THE PARK IS SPREAD ALONG 85 MILES OF SHORELINE with several separate entrances and facilities, so "the park" is not one place - check which area you want before setting off. Ozark Caverns is by guided tour only, ticketed and seasonal. The two swimming beaches, the campgrounds and the marina keep seasonal hours. Camping and cabins are reserved and book out for summer.
