Lake Sakakawea State Park
Subnational Park · Pick City, North Dakota
Seven hundred and thirty-nine acres on the southern shore of Lake Sakakawea a mile north of Pick City, immediately west of Garrison Dam. It is the most developed park on the reservoir - a full marina with slips and fuel, concrete ramps, a swimming beach, cabins and a large campground - and it is the eastern terminus of the North Country National Scenic Trail's North Dakota segment. The dam, the national fish hatchery and the reservoir's whole engineering story are within a few minutes.
720 Park Avenue, Pick City, North Dakota, 58545, United States
Open year round with a per-vehicle North Dakota state park entry fee. The campground, cabins, marina, swimming beach and boat ramps are seasonal and reservable through the state park system, and summer weekends and the ice fishing season both fill early. ⚠ RESERVOIR LEVELS MOVE BETWEEN YEARS AND CAN PUT INDIVIDUAL RAMPS OUT OF SERVICE - check before towing a boat. Aquatic nuisance species rules are enforced on every boat entering and leaving. The Garrison Dam National Fish Hatchery, minutes away, is free and keeps its own seasonal hours.
