Landmark Inn State Historic Site

Historic Site · Castroville, Texas

A stagecoach inn and gristmill complex on the Medina River at Castroville, built by Alsatian settlers from the 1840s and operating as an inn for well over a century. It is one of the very few Texas Historical Commission sites where you can stay the night, in rooms furnished to period and without televisions.

⚠ DAY-VISIT HOURS AND ADMISSION ARE NOT STATED HERE — I could not verify them. Check thc.texas.gov; THC sites commonly close one or two days a week. ⚠ ACCOMMODATION IS AVAILABLE AND IS THE POINT OF THE PLACE — period-furnished rooms WITHOUT TELEVISIONS, booked separately, limited in number, and they book well ahead, especially around Castroville's St Louis Day in August. ⚠ Ask which buildings are open on the day you visit.
