Leonard Harrison State Park

State Park · Wellsboro, Pennsylvania

The east rim of Pine Creek Gorge, which Pennsylvania markets as its Grand Canyon and which is, on its own terms, an eight-hundred-foot-deep, forty-seven-mile cut through the northern plateau. The park is essentially an overlook: a visitor centre, a railed terrace on the lip, and the Turkey Path, which drops a thousand feet to the creek past a series of small waterfalls and climbs straight back. Colton Point State Park looks back from the opposite rim.

4797 Route 660, Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, 16901, United States

Park open year round, generally sunrise to sunset, free. THE TURKEY PATH IS SEASONAL and is closed through winter and often into spring; it also closes for maintenance after storm damage. The visitor centre keeps daytime hours, mainly in the warmer months. Camping is seasonal.
