Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial

Memorial · Lincoln City, Indiana

The farm in Spencer County where Abraham Lincoln lived from the age of seven to twenty-one — fourteen of his first twenty-one years, and more of his childhood than anywhere else. His mother Nancy Hanks Lincoln died here of milk sickness in 1818 and is buried on the hillside above the cabin site. The memorial building carries five carved limestone panels of his life, and a working pioneer homestead with costumed interpreters stands on the ground where the Lincoln cabin was.

3027 East South Street, Lincoln City, Indiana, 47552, United States

Visitor centre open year-round, generally 8:00 to 17:00, closed on some federal holidays. The Living Historical Farm operates seasonally, generally mid-April to late September. Grounds and trails open daily.
