Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site

Historic House · Lerna, Illinois

A working living-history farm reconstructing the 1840s homestead of Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln — Abraham Lincoln's father and stepmother — in the flat farmland of Coles County. Lincoln himself never lived here as an adult; he visited. What makes it worth the drive is that the farm is actually farmed, with costumed interpreters working the fields and the kitchen with period methods rather than demonstrating them for an audience.

402 South Lincoln Highway Road, Lerna, Illinois, 62440, United States

FREE, donation invited. Grounds year-round; living-history interpretation seasonal, roughly spring to autumn. Closed on the Illinois state historic site holiday list.
