Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park

Kansas State Park · Oakley, Kansas

Two hundred and twenty acres of Niobrara Chalk spires and canyons in Logan County, the largest exposure of that formation anywhere in Kansas, opened as the state's newest state park in 2019. The Nature Conservancy bought the land and still owns it; Kansas manages the public access. Two short trails run along the rim, and there is no route down into the formations, because the chalk holds rare plants and nesting cliff swallows and prairie falcons that the closure exists to protect.

Gove County Road 400, off K-95, Oakley, Kansas, 67748, United States

Open daily during daylight hours. Kansas state park vehicle permit required. Both trails are rim routes; there is no public access down into the formations except on occasional announced guided hikes. The last stretch of access road is unpaved.
