Little Manatee River State Park

A quiet park on a state-designated Outstanding Florida Water, where a blackwater river winds through sand pine scrub and oak hammock south of Tampa. The 6.5-mile hiking loop is one of the better day hikes in the region and the river is small enough that a paddle down it feels genuinely remote, twenty minutes from a motorway.
