Logoly State Park

Arkansas'S First Environmental Education State Park, Established 1978 On 368 Acres Of South Arkansas Pine Woodland, Containing A State Natural Area With Mineral Springs And Bog Habitat. · McNeil, Arkansas

Logoly was the first Arkansas state park created specifically for environmental education, in 1978, and it is still mostly used by school groups - which means on an ordinary weekday a visitor has three hundred and sixty-eight acres of south Arkansas pine woodland largely to themselves. Inside it is a State Natural Area protecting mineral springs that were bottled and sold as health water a century ago, and a bog habitat that is genuinely unusual this far west. The trails are short, flat and well made, the visitor centre is built as a teaching building, and the whole thing is free. The name comes from the three families who gave the land: Longino, Goode and Lyle.

5556 Logoly Road, McNeil, Arkansas, 71752, United States

Open daily during daylight hours and Arkansas state parks charge no entrance fee. The visitor centre keeps daytime hours with reduced winter hours and is oriented to school programmes, so weekday mornings in term time can be busy with groups. Group camping is by arrangement. Trails can be wet after rain given the bog and spring habitat.
