Long Beach Peninsula

Beach Town · Seaview, Washington

A twenty-eight-mile sand spit between the Pacific and Willapa Bay at the southwest corner of Washington, with a nearly unbroken beach running its full length and small towns strung along its spine. The beach is legally a state highway and can be driven on. It is the closest ocean to Portland, which is where most of its visitors come from, and its combination of flat sand, constant wind and cheap motels has made it a kite-flying and razor-clamming place rather than a swimming one.

3914 Pacific Way, Seaview, Washington, 98644, United States

Open at all times. The beach is a designated state highway and is legally drivable, subject to seasonal and area restrictions posted at the approaches. Shops and restaurants in Long Beach and Ocean Park generally run 10 AM to 6 PM with reduced winter hours and more Monday closures than visitors expect. Razor clam digs are opened by the state on specific announced dates.
