Longgong Caves
Water Filled Karst Cave System Near Anshun; National 5A Tourist Attraction · Anshun, Guizhou
A karst cave system near Anshun in Guizhou, named the Dragon Palace for the flooded galleries that run through the hills, and seen mostly from a boat. Water from the plateau above pours into a sinkhole and disappears underground, and visitors follow it in flat-bottomed boats through a chain of chambers where the roof lifts high above the surface and stalactites hang to the waterline, lit in colours that turn the passage into something closer to a stage set than a cave. Above the water, dry galleries hold flowstone terraces and a chamber the guides call the Dragon's Hall. Outside, the karst landscape is part of the attraction: a waterfall drops directly into the cave mouth at Tianchi, and paths lead past ponds, pools and a Buddhist grotto to a natural bridge. The site sits close to the Huangguoshu Waterfall and is usually visited on the same trip; from May 2026 it runs a timed, real-name booking system with five entry slots through the day.
