Louis Armstrong House Museum
Historic House · Corona, New York
The modest brick house on a Corona side street where LOUIS ARMSTRONG lived from 1943 until his death in 1971 — ⚠ HE COULD HAVE LIVED ANYWHERE AND HE CHOSE HERE, and stayed for twenty-eight years. The interiors are exactly as Lucille Armstrong left them, and the archive holds his home tape recordings, his collages, his letters and his trumpets. A new education and exhibition centre opened across the street in 2023.
34-56 107th Street, Corona, New York, 11368, United States
⚠ GUIDED-TOUR-ONLY AND BOOKED IN ADVANCE — the house is small, groups are capped and tours sell out. ⚠ CHECK THE OPENING DAYS; the museum keeps a limited schedule. ⚠ THE LOUIS ARMSTRONG CENTER OPENED ACROSS THE STREET IN 2023 with the archive, a gallery and a 68-seat performance space — anything written before mid-2023 describes only the house, and you should CONFIRM WHETHER THE CENTER IS INCLUDED in your ticket. ⚠ A FREE ADMISSION DAY RAN ON SATURDAY 7 FEBRUARY 2026 for Black History Month; THAT DATE HAS PASSED and is noted only so a stale listing is not mistaken for a standing offer. ⚠ It is a residential street and people live either side.
