Louisville Mega Cavern

A worked-out limestone mine of roughly a hundred acres lying under the Watterson Expressway and part of the Louisville Zoo, converted into an attraction complex and a working document-storage business at the same time. It holds what is generally described as the world's only fully underground zip line course and the world's only fully underground bike park, along with a tram tour of the mine workings and a ropes course. At Christmas the whole thing becomes a drive-through light display where you take your own car underground.

Lights Under Louisville runs on timed slots in November and December and closes much of the rest of the site while it operates. Book online in advance — the adventure attractions sell out.
