Louisville Palace

Theater · Louisville, Kentucky

A 1928 atmospheric theatre on Fourth Street designed by John Eberson, the architect who invented the form — a Spanish Baroque courtyard built indoors, with a vaulted ceiling painted as a night sky and fitted with lamps that twinkle like stars. The lobby ceiling carries 139 sculpted faces of historical figures looking down at the audience. It was nearly lost, restored in the 1990s, and now works as a mid-size touring venue for music and comedy.

625 South Fourth Street, Louisville, Kentucky, 40202, United States

Event days only. The building is closed to the public on non-event days and there is no regular tour. Touring music, comedy and film events run through the year on a published calendar — check what is on before planning a visit.
