Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory

Specialty Museum · Louisville, Kentucky

The working bat factory of Hillerich and Bradsby on West Main Street, where the Louisville Slugger has been made since a seventeen-year-old apprentice turned a replacement bat for a struggling Louisville hitter in 1884. A 120-foot steel bat leans against the front of the building, and the tour walks the actual production floor where major league bats are turned to order. Every visitor leaves with a free miniature bat, which is the detail everybody remembers.
