Loveland Living Planet Aquarium
Aquarium · Draper, Utah
Utah's aquarium, in Draper south of Salt Lake City, founded in 1999 and now occupying about 136,000 square feet with something over half a million gallons of water — roughly 600,000 in total and 300,000 in the largest single tank. It draws more than a million visitors a year, which for a landlocked state is a considerable number. Its five main areas are Ocean Explorer, Antarctic Adventure, Journey to South America, Discover Utah and Expedition: Asia, so it is as much a living-planet museum as a fish house.

⚠ ADMISSION AND HOURS WERE NOT VERIFIED FROM THE AQUARIUM'S OWN PAGE FOR THIS ROW — check thelivingplanet.com before travelling. Expect timed-entry tickets bought online with dynamic pricing, where weekdays are materially cheaper than weekends and Utah school holidays. ⚠ IT DRAWS MORE THAN A MILLION VISITORS A YEAR through a single 136,000-square-foot building, so weekends and holidays are genuinely crowded and a weekday morning is a different experience. Dive shows, feeds and keeper talks run to a posted daily schedule that changes seasonally — check the board or the app on arrival, because the shark and penguin feeds are easy to miss. Animal encounters and behind-the-scenes experiences are booked separately and in advance. Parking is on site.
