Lower Broadway

Nightlife District · Nashville, Tennessee

Five blocks of neon between the Cumberland River and Fifth Avenue, known as the Honky Tonk Highway, where live music plays in every bar from late morning until the small hours, 365 days a year, with no cover charge. The strip grew up around the Ryman Auditorium in the alley behind it, where Grand Ole Opry performers crossed between sets; it now mixes the old honky-tonks with multi-storey bars owned by current country stars.
