A 1929 atmospheric theatre on Houston Street, built so that the auditorium appears to be an open-air Mediterranean village courtyard under a night sky — plaster balconies, vines and towers around the walls, and stars and drifting clouds projected on the ceiling. It is a National Historic Landmark, it seats over two thousand, and it is where touring Broadway comes to San Antonio.
