Maker's Mark Distillery

National Historic Landmark · Loretto, Kentucky

A National Historic Landmark distillery at Loretto, in a hollow of Marion County, where the buildings are painted black with red shutters and every bottle is still dipped in red wax by hand. It was the first distillery in the United States designated a National Historic Landmark, and the campus — a Victorian house, a nineteenth-century still house, a restored gristmill and a Dale Chihuly glass ceiling installed in one of the cellars — is the most deliberately beautiful of the big bourbon sites.

3350 Burks Spring Road, Loretto, Kentucky, 40037, United States

Open daily, generally 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM with reduced Sunday hours and seasonal variation; closed on major holidays and for some production maintenance periods. Tours are timed and ticketed — book on the distillery website in advance.
