Manatee Springs State Park

Florida State Park · Chiefland, Florida

A first-magnitude spring pouring into the Suwannee River through a cypress swamp, with a boardwalk running out over the run to the river itself. Manatees come up into the spring in winter, cave divers work the vent below it all year, and the park is one of the oldest in the system — the state has run it since the 1950s.

11650 Northwest 115th Street, Chiefland, Florida, 32626, United States

Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Swimming closes when manatees are present in the spring.
