Mānoa Falls
Waterfall · Honolulu, Hawaii
A hundred-and-fifty-foot waterfall at the head of Mānoa Valley, twenty minutes from Waikīkī, reached by a mile-and-a-half round-trip trail through dense rainforest. It is the most accessible real waterfall hike on Oʻahu and consequently one of the busiest, with bamboo, banyan and heavy mud along the way. Swimming in the pool below is strongly discouraged because of leptospirosis, and the pool sits under an unstable rock face.
Mānoa Falls Trail, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96822, United States
The trail is open in daylight and the walk itself is free, but ⚠ PARKING AT THE TRAILHEAD IS PRIVATELY OPERATED AND CHARGED, which surprises people who expected a free city trail. It is about a mile and a half round trip. ⚠ THE TRAIL CLOSES AFTER HEAVY RAIN AND FOR LANDSLIDE, and it has been shut for extended periods before - check before driving up the valley.
