Marie Selby Botanical Gardens
Botanical Garden · Sarasota, Florida
Fifteen acres on Sarasota Bay holding the world's leading scientific collection of epiphytes — the orchids, bromeliads and ferns that grow on other plants rather than in soil. It is a working research institution as much as a public garden, its taxonomists describe species new to science every year, and the tropical conservatory is where the collection is actually shown.
1534 Mound Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34236, United States
Open daily, generally 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Christmas Day. Historic Spanish Point at Osprey keeps its own hours.
