Martinsville Speedway
Racing Circuit · Ridgeway, Virginia
A half-mile paperclip of a track built in 1947, and the only one on the NASCAR Cup circuit to have held a race every single year since the series began in 1949. It is the shortest track in the sport, the corners are concrete and the straights asphalt, and the racing that results is close, ill-tempered and decided by brakes. The winner is given a grandfather clock, which drivers want more than almost anything else on the calendar.
340 Speedway Road, Ridgeway, Virginia, 24148, United States
Open to the public on race weekends only — two NASCAR Cup weekends a year, spring and autumn, plus support events. Closed to casual visitors at all other times.
