Matthaei Botanical Gardens

The University of Michigan's botanical garden outside Ann Arbor, running to some 300 acres of prairie, wetland and woodland trails around a conservatory of tropical, temperate and arid houses. The conservatory is the point in a Michigan winter — it is warm, humid and in full leaf in February, which the trails outside emphatically are not.
