Meaher State Park

Thirteen hundred acres of wetland on the causeway across the head of Mobile Bay, inside the Mobile-Tensaw Delta — one of the largest river deltas in the United States and among the least visited. The park is small and almost entirely water: two boardwalks out over the marsh, a fishing pier, a boat ramp and a campground on the edge of it. The Five Rivers Delta Resource Center is next door and is the place that explains what you are looking at.

Open daily year round for a small day-use fee, with the campground open to registered guests around the clock. The Five Rivers Delta Resource Center next door is free and keeps its own hours.
