Medora Musical at the Burning Hills Amphitheatre

Amphitheater · Medora, North Dakota

An outdoor variety show with a live band, horses on stage and the badlands as the backdrop, performed nightly through the summer in an amphitheatre cut into the hillside above Medora. It has run every summer for decades and is the most attended attraction in North Dakota - unashamedly patriotic, built around the Roosevelt story and the western myth, and staged in a 2,900-seat bowl that faces west so the sun sets behind the stage during the first half.

Chateau Road, Medora, North Dakota, 58645, United States

⚠ STRICTLY SEASONAL - the Medora Musical runs nightly from roughly early June to early September and there is no performance outside that window. Curtain is in the evening, generally around 8:30 PM, with the pitchfork steak fondue served on the bluff beforehand as a separate ticket. The amphitheatre is open to the sky and shows go ahead in cool and windy weather. Tickets are sold online and at the Medora box office and July and August evenings sell out well in advance.
