Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum

Specialty Museum · Memphis, Tennessee

A museum at the FedExForum end of Beale Street, developed with the Smithsonian Institution, that tells the Memphis music story as one thing rather than as separate labels — starting with sharecroppers and the rural south in the 1930s and running through Sun, Stax, Hi and the radio stations that carried them. Every visitor gets a digital audio guide loaded with over a hundred complete songs, which is the museum's real exhibit and the reason people stay longer than they planned.

191 Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee, 38103, United States

Open daily, generally 9:30 AM - 5 or 7 PM depending on season, including most public holidays. Audio guide included with admission. Free shuttle to Sun Studio and Graceland runs through the day.
