MetLife Stadium and the Meadowlands
Stadium · East Rutherford, New Jersey
An 82,500-seat stadium on reclaimed marshland in East Rutherford, eight miles from midtown Manhattan, and THE ONLY VENUE IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHARED BY TWO FRANCHISES — the Giants and the Jets both call it home and both are New York teams playing in New Jersey, which is a joke the state has heard. It is the largest stadium in the NFL by capacity, it hosted Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, and IT WAS SELECTED AS THE VENUE FOR THE 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP FINAL. Around it the Meadowlands Sports Complex holds a racetrack and an arena on ground that was salt marsh within living memory.
1 MetLife Stadium Drive, East Rutherford, New Jersey, 07073, United States
EVENT DAYS ONLY — the stadium is closed between events and there is no general admission. Two NFL teams share it, so there is a home game most weeks from September to early January, with concerts and international football largely in summer. PUBLIC TOURS HAVE STARTED AND STOPPED MORE THAN ONCE — confirm the current programme before travelling, and note there is no museum or hall of fame on site. A STRICT CLEAR-BAG POLICY APPLIES WITH NO BAG STORAGE, and the published dimensions have changed. Prepaid parking is effectively required for major events. THE DEDICATED RAIL SPUR FROM SECAUCUS JUNCTION RUNS ON EVENT DAYS ONLY. There is no roof.
