Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park

Florida State Park · Keystone Heights, Florida

One of Florida's original Civilian Conservation Corps parks, built in the 1930s around a steephead ravine where a spring-fed stream cuts down through the sandhill into a shaded gorge. The CCC log cabins are still rented out, the ravine boardwalk descends into air noticeably cooler than the scrub above it, and very little about the place has changed in ninety years.

6239 State Road 21, Keystone Heights, Florida, 32656, United States

Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. The swimming lake is seasonal and depends on water levels.
