Missouri National Recreational River
River · Yankton, South Dakota
Two stretches of the Missouri River totalling about ninety-eight miles, on the border between South Dakota and Nebraska, preserved because they are among the very last places the river still behaves like itself - unchannelised, braiding around sandbars and shifting its banks, as it did for the whole of its length before the dams. Everything upstream and downstream is reservoir or navigation channel. This is what Lewis and Clark saw.
508 East 2nd Street, Yankton, South Dakota, 57078, United States
