Mont-Orford National Park, called Parc national du Mont-Orford in French, is a Quebec provincial park run by Sepaq in the Eastern Townships. It is not a Parks Canada national park, and the rules and passes are different. The park was created in 1938 around Mont Orford, which rises to 853 m, and it combines forest trails, a gondola to the summit in the warm season (confirm dates), Lake Stukely with a sand beach, and camping. A downhill ski area on the mountain operates separately in winter, and the Centre d'arts Orford hosts summer concerts. The park suits hikers, families, autumn colour seekers and music fans. It is about 100 km east of Montreal, roughly 1.5 hours by car, so a day trip works well, with the lake and the summit both within reach. Expect crowds on fine autumn weekends. Allow half a day for a short hike, a full day for the summit, lake and a concert. Signs and services are mainly in French, though staff usually manage English.

The park is open year round, but services follow the season. Summer and early autumn bring staffed entrances, beach services at Lake Stukely, camping and the gondola to the summit, with hours that vary by day and month. Winter shifts the focus to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the park, while the downhill ski area is run by a separate operator with its own lift hours. Visitor centres close or reduce hours outside the main season. The Centre d'arts Orford keeps its own concert calendar, mostly in summer. Confirm gondola dates, beach supervision and entrance hours with Sepaq before you travel.
