Mont-Saint-Bruno National Park is a hill and lake park on the south shore of Montreal, about 20 km east of the city centre near Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville. The hill is one of the Monteregian mountains, a line of ancient rock plugs that rise out of the St. Lawrence lowlands, and the park holds five small lakes, a maple and oak forest and an old stone windmill from the seigneurial period (confirm its age and opening). Roughly 20 km of paths for walking, cycling and, in winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing circle the water, and a visitor centre by the main entrance gives out maps. The park sits inside a suburban setting, so it is one of the easiest nature outings for people without a car who can reach it by bus and a short walk (confirm). It is busiest on sunny weekends and in the second half of October, when the maples colour, and quietest on winter weekdays. A day-use fee applies in the season (confirm the rate).

The park is generally open daily all year, with the gates and the visitor centre working to set seasonal hours, often from early morning until early evening in summer and earlier closing in winter, so confirm the posted times before you go. Cars may only enter while the gate is staffed, and pedestrians and cyclists can often enter at other points. The visitor centre, washrooms and any equipment rental run on shorter hours outside summer and some weekdays. Winter activities depend on snow cover, and groomed ski trails open only when conditions allow. Confirm hours, fees and trail status on the day, especially for holidays and for events held in the park.
