Three glass pyramids on the bay side of Galveston Island, visible from the causeway as you drive on — a twelve-storey aquarium, a ten-storey climate-controlled rainforest with animals moving freely through the canopy, and a science discovery pyramid, plus two theatres and a seasonal beach. It is a non-profit: ticket money funds its conservation and research work.
