Mount Roberts Tramway

Aerial Tramway Owned By Goldbelt, Inc. · Juneau, Alaska

An aerial tramway rising about 1,800 feet from the cruise docks in downtown Juneau up the side of Mount Roberts, opened in 1996 and owned by Goldbelt, Juneau's urban Alaska Native corporation. In about six minutes the cabins climb above the rainforest to the Mountain House, with a restaurant, a theatre showing a film on Tlingit culture, a gallery of Native art, and a raptor exhibit with a bald eagle. From there, alpine trails lead along the ridge over Gastineau Channel and Douglas Island, and fit hikers can continue toward the summit. The tram mainly runs in the cruise season. In 2025 an all-day adult ticket cost about $60 and a child's about $45. Cloud often covers the upper mountain, so check the webcam before buying tickets.

490 South Franklin Street, Juneau, Alaska, 99801, United States

Seasonal, mainly May to September, with daily hours around cruise schedules (roughly 8 AM to evening; check goldbelttram.com). Weather can pause operations.
