Museum of Idaho
History Museum · Idaho Falls, Idaho
The history museum of eastern Idaho, in downtown Idaho Falls, grown out of the Bonneville Museum that opened in the town's Carnegie library in 1985 and reconstituted under its present name in 2003. A new travelling exhibit hall, education centre and lobby opened in 2019 and the permanent Idaho galleries reopened in 2021. It is the museum in the state that brings in the big national touring exhibitions - one to three a year, on anything from palaeontology to cultural history - and its own seven-gallery Way Out West covers Idaho from its geology to its statehood.
