Mystic Caverns

A Privately Operated Show Cave On Scenic Highway 7 Between Harrison And The Buffalo National River, Comprising Two Separate Caverns Mystic Caverns And The Crystal Dome Toured Together. · Harrison, Arkansas

Mystic Caverns is two caves on one ticket beside Scenic Highway 7 south of Harrison, which puts it directly on the road most people drive to reach the Buffalo National River. The first was a commercial show cave from the 1920s; the second, the Crystal Dome, was found in 1967 and is the better of the two - an eight-storey chamber with a large intact flowstone formation that the older cave, worked over by decades of souvenir-hunting, no longer has. Tours are guided and take about an hour for both. It is a small private operation rather than a Forest Service showpiece, and it is considerably cheaper than Blanchard Springs an hour and a half east.

1131 Highway 7 South, Harrison, Arkansas, 72601, United States

Open daily on daytime hours through the main season, with reduced days and hours in winter and closure on major holidays; a small private operation, so hours vary.
